Jessica Hiatt, acoustical systems designer of IP Design Group, has earned certification from InfoComm International. The Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) credential is for audiovisual professionals who have demonstrated knowledge and comprehension of the science and technology used in audio, video and display systems. To achieve a CTS credential, individuals must also agree to a code of ethics pledging truth, accuracy and a commitment to excellence in all aspects of their profession.
“As audiovisual equipment has become more sophisticated, so too has the need for professional services to assure the highest performance levels of communications technologies,” said Randal A. Lemke, Ph.D., Executive Director, InfoComm International. “CTS professionals are able to apply their skills and knowledge to design and install display and sound systems into boardrooms, classrooms and other public venues so audiences can easily see and hear the information presented.”
InfoComm’s certification program, offered since 1981 by the international trade association for professional audiovisual and information communications industries, recently received recognition from the National Certification Commission of the United States, the only AV-related certification program to do so.
